We wish Sigurdur Steindorsson a happy birthday. Siggi Palli as we call him in Iceland hasn’t played much chess for a while but decided to enter the Reykjavik Open this year. He was the first to pay the entry fee, the first to draw somebody 600 elo points below him and the first to lose a game because he forgot to turn of this phone.
But happy birthday Siggi!
I have to end this on a good note for Siggi since he had to return to work as a result of losing so early today!
Here is his game from the Reykjavik Open in 2000 when at the age of 18 he beat one of the most successful Icelandic GM’s of all time!
