This year Reykjavik Open will against select game of they day for each day. Thursday with the double round day therefore produced only one winner but all the other rounds will have a winner.
So here are our first selections. For the 1st round we selected the huge upset of the tournament when Ármann Pétursson (1227) overcame close to a 1000 point rating difference against Martin Wecker (2134).
One day 2 we had the double day with round 2 and 3. In these rounds there were plenty of games but we ended up selecting the second round win of GM Johann Hjartarson where he sacrificed two pawns in the opening for a big attack and finished off with a really pretty move. Lets have a look:
