With just about a week until the European Championship starts, the Armenians are already in Reykjavik! Players without a vaccine have had to be subjected to a 5-day quarantine according to the local Covid rules. It seems the Armenians want a few extra days as well to get acclimated. Oher players the need the quarantine should arrive soon and then middle of next week, most participants will be arriving.

In another piece of news, one spot is available in the FIDE Grand Swiss for a player under the age of 20. The highest placed player aged under 20 gets a spot in the biggest Open tournament of the year.
